Tea, treason, and the green monstah...
Today was a bit of a slower day for us. We only had plans to do one thing and that was visit the Boston Tea Party Museum. This is another one of those things that despite many trips to Boston I have never done before. I wouldn't really recommend it for smaller kids either. Even though Evie did enjoy throwing tea into the harbor and walking around the old ship there was a lot of role play and history that she just didn't find very thrilling. In addition they do also have a video which re-enacts parts of the war that were a little intense for her. Overall though it was a really fun activity for all of us.
At the end you can sample a flight of teas from the era of the Boston tea party. These are supposedly the exact blends that were thrown into the harbor all those years ago which is pretty cool. You can also order other drinks and snacks or even have a full on tea party with a pot of tea and scones. It was really fun and a nice way to get out of the morning cold.
Since our plans were pretty open for the rest of the day and the weather wasn't terrible we walked over to North, South and Quincy market after the tour was done.
It's a little sad for me to not be in Boston during Pride Week because none of the usual rainbow flags were on display at this time of year but we took some obligatory pics anyway and then everyone had a lot of fun choosing what they wanted to eat in the market. Evie chose a healthy lunch of french fries and macaroons. 😂
Because we still had plenty of day ahead of us and also because we had to grab some masks due to some lost items earlier in the day we headed over to Fenway after lunch. I usually grab Walburgers for lunch when I'm in Fenway...it's not necessarily the best restaurant on the planet but the location is nice, it's tasty food, and when in Boston....lol you may as well look at Mark Wahlberg while you eat! But since we had already gotten lunch we just hit up the Target for some supplies and then toured the stadium before heading back toward our apartment.
We took a quick spin around Harvard and then grabbed pizza for dinner and some souvenirs from The Harvard Coop on our way home. We also grabbed some Mike's Pastry to eat for dessert because...why not!? It was another long but super fun day!
