Universal Studios...

Today is the first OFFICIAL day of our vacation. We originally planned it to be a low key beach type trip since COVID is still a thing and it was meant to be a last relaxing week before life gets hectic with school and the holidays. However, once we found out that Universal and Disney were less than two hours from our house there was no way weren't going to go. We started with Universal Studios.

It was a really magical day! We got to ride the Hogwarts Express into Hogsmeade and our first order of business when we arrived was an interactive wand. Evie had fun waving it at the windows in the shops to try to get the magic to happen. We all had a few goes at it as the day went on and even though it was hit or miss it was a lot of fun trying! We stayed in Hogsmeade for awhile and got butterbeers and some sweets from Honeydukes. Evie really wanted to go inside Hogwarts but she wasn't tall enough for the ride and she was not interested in the Hippogriff ride so after we finished shopping and enjoying our treats we moved on to Jurassic World.

We rode the water ride there and even though it had a large hill which we didn't anticipate Evie came off of it really happy and saying she loved it. Of course it didn't encourage her to get on any OTHER rides with big hills. lol...she did really love this Lorax display and she rode a fun carosel in Suess World.

She also really liked playing in any water she was able to find even though the off and on showers kept all of us pretty cool and somewhat damp during the day. After we finished with one park we took the Hogwarts Express back over to check out the other side. I'm REALLY glad we got the two park pass here because the side you come in on is really pretty small and doesn't have much to do. We did REALLY enjoy Diagon Alley but we would have been done with the park within a few hours had we not opted to do both. We had lunch at Three Broomsticks before we headed over and then we spent most of the rest of the day playing. There are two sections for kids in the main park; Fivals Playground which was fun and...

...a really awesome Curious George water park. This was a PERFECT way to wrap up our day. We all ran around in here, playing with water, mirrors, balls, and huge water guns! Evie was SOAKED when we left. Thankfully I brought extra clothes for her and it was a nice sunny day. After we finished up there we stopped a the onsite Starbucks for some souvenir cups and headed out. As we left a massive storm rolled in so it ended up being impeccable timing. We had a long drive home but it was a really fun day for all of us. Definitely would come back again but hopefully when Evie is a little older and likes riding rollercoasters more! :)
