The Halloween box...

So it's not October yet but we are sooo close so I've been weaving Halloween things into Evie's day. Usually it's creepy lunches but today I made her a little sensory box and it was a pretty big hit. I ended up making the slimes since I intended to get some floam and whatnot from the dollar store but mine had none today. So I just made her some crunchy, standard, and butter slime and then added some scented playdoh to one of the compartments as well. She loved it but then asked me toward the end if we could fill ALL the holes with slime. So we made some fluffy slime and some cloud slime and she filled the remaining holes with kinetic sand.

Evie had a tough time getting off to school today. I'm not sure if it was because it's a Monday or because of some things that happened over the weekend but in either event she cried all the way to the bus stop and all the way onto the bus. So when she got home we spent some extra time playing together before we went to make dinner. I asked her tonight what she wanted to have for dessert and she said cauldron cakes so I let her know that it's her turn to make it! We got out all of the supplies and ingredients and she got to work. She needed a little bit of help with measurements and with the electric mixer (she doesn't like the sound) but she did a great job overall.

The outsides were nice and fluffy and the inside was gooey and delicious. Her whipped cream was a little soft but it was tasty and it was also her favorite part! It's always fun to cook and bake with her and it was a nice way to get in some extra time together after a long day. :)
