Let's play make believe...

We're almost through our first full week of at home preschool and so far it's gone really well. Today was supposed to be library day but we had some last minute errands to run so we decided to let Friday be for the library and today we went to the park and the pool again. Only two more days to swim and then it will be closed for the season. We have really enjoyed swimming together in the afternoons this year. As a bonus there wasn't a single other person there today so we got to swim and jump and play make believe together the whole time. It was a lot of fun. It occurs to me that next year when we come again she will be a fully different being with new likes and dislikes and skills and stories. She changes so fast and if you blink you truly will miss it. I'm so grateful to have the ability to capture each stage of her growth along her journey to adulthood.

Our career for today was veterinarian.  I set up a little station for her with all her vet supplies and a register and then we lined up her stuffed animals for check ups and various types of vet care. She was so happy to play along today that she totally forgot about her half hour of screen time (which was fine by me)!

She really loved checking off the different symptoms our pets were having and giving them flea baths and X-rays. I printed these sheets and her little name badge off this morning and laminated them so the dry erase would come off. She already had the vet set so it made for a super easy activity today.

We also had art day today. We used forks to create little fireworks with her paint. I typically schedule the art/messy stuff for after I'm off work and it works well to have it after naptime so I can get everything set up and cover the space with paper so it doesn't get all over! The fireworks turned out pretty well!

It was a really fun but exhausting day. We're making little shifts in our schedule everyday to make things more smooth and give me a little time for myself (which is typically after bedtime) and work in regular cleaning and whatnot but so far it's been a fun adventure! One more day in careers week...what do you think our final career will be?
