The Museum of Ice Cream

It's finally Evie's birthday and for her birthday she BEGGED me to take her to the Museum of Ice Cream. So here we are. It's very....pink. Honestly the entire experience was FULLY curated for amazing photos and it was also a lot of fun. They take you in small groups which is awesome since we were really able to enjoy each space and spend the time we wanted to. We were greeted by an ice cream subway and the choice of a dark or milk chocolate ice cream bar. After we ate that we moved on to another room where we got an overview of the museum. Evie got her special birthday girl crown and button which says "It's my birthday!" Throughout the museum as people greeted her with "Happy birthday!" she continued to ask me, "How do they know, mama?" and I just kept reminding her of her little birthday pin.

Further along we got to use magnets to write what we love, what we dream of and where we are from. There was another ice cream station with pink ice cream and sprinkles which we skipped and then a few more rooms before we were offered an orange soda float which we also declined. Then we played mini golf in a room where the ice cream sundae course was shaped like hot dogs.

And of course what else is to be expected but to be offered some of said hot dog ice cream. Yes, hot dog flavored ice cream. At first I declined and opted for the pineapple instead but when Evie swiped it from me my curiosity got the better of me and I went for it. I did skip the mustard and relish toppers. Honestly it's exactly what I expected hot dog ice cream to taste like. Kind of like you accidentally left your vanilla cone lying in hot dog water. Definitely a whole mouth experience and not the kind I'd try again. But...when in Rome...

At the end of our experience there was a whole pool of sprinkles for us to play in, which we all did happily. Evie the most so. When we finished playing she had another surprise waiting...a sprinkle pool sundae! We all shared this one since everyone was already three ice creams in at this point (having skipped two of the five we could have eaten)! Then we headed up to Kenosha for a fun beach day on Simmons Island.

We collected sea glass, swam a little, played in the sand, and then grabbed lunch at a drive in before heading home. We had pizza for dinner (Evies favorite) and then shared some cotton candy cake to wrap up the day. We were all on a sugar high before bedtime but it was a very fun day and she spent it full of smiles. Welcome to six...
